TOYOTA RANKS NUMBER ONE FORKLIFT SUPPLIER WORLDWIDE FOR 12TH CONSECUTIVE YEAR, WIDENS GAP

October 16th, 2014 - COLUMBUS, Ind., – For the 12th consecutive year, Toyota achieved the top position as the world’s largest lift truck supplier in Modern Materials Handling’s Annual Top 20 list.

Toyota reported $7.7 billion in worldwide sales revenue for fiscal year 2013, a 26 percent increase over the second largest global forklift supplier on the list.

To qualify for Modern’s annual Top 20 lift truck suppliers list, companies must manufacture and sell forklifts in at least one of the Industrial Truck Association’s seven truck classes, which includes a variety of electric and internal combustion forklifts. Rankings are based on worldwide revenue from powered industrial trucks during each company’s most recent fiscal year.

Toyota continues to improve the material-handling process and enhance the end-user experience with new equipment and innovations, including: the recent introduction of the new 8-Series Electric Stand-Up Rider Counterbalance forklifts, an extended hand pallet jack line with 10 specialty models to provide one of the most comprehensive offerings of pallet jacks in the industry, and Toyota’s 8-Series forklift line with new large-capacity models and two new engines.
