TOYOTA SUPPORTS SECOND ANNUAL NATIONAL FORKLIFT SAFETY DAY

June 6th, 2015 - Toyota President Jeff Rufener Serves as Chairman of the NFSD Task Force

COLUMBUS, Ind. (June 5, 2015) – In an ongoing effort to increase the awareness of forklift safety, Toyota Industrial Equipment is proud to support the second annual National Forklift Safety Day (NFSD). Forklift manufacturers from across the U.S. will gather in Washington D.C. on June 9, 2015, to educate customers, policymakers and the Administration on the safe use of forklifts and the importance of operator training. The timing coincides with National Safety Month.

Sponsored by the Industrial Truck Association (ITA), NFSD serves as a focal point for manufacturers to highlight forklift safety best practices. Toyota Material Handling North America President and CEO Brett Wood is chairman of the ITA Board of Directors and Toyota President Jeff Rufener is chairman of the NFSD Task Force. Brett Wood and Jeff Rufener will speak at the event in Washington D.C. next week.

“OSHA-mandated forklift operator training makes sense,” said President Jeff Rufener. “It improves employee satisfaction and performance, reduces product damages and labor costs, improves profits, and most importantly, saves lives. We’re grateful for the opportunity to reinforce the ITA’s message on Capital Hill during National Safety Month.”
